Xgimi has introduced its latest compact projectors, the MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser, which now come equipped with built-in batteries. This enhancement significantly increases their portability, allowing users to enjoy movies without the need for an external power bank when an outlet is unavailable. Both models are designed to provide sufficient power for approximately two and a half hours of movie playback and include several other notable upgrades, such as a standard-sized HDMI port.

Pricing and Availability

The MoGo 4″>MoGo 4, which utilizes an LED light source similar to the MoGo 3 Pro”>MoGo 4 Laser, is priced at available starting today”>$499, reflecting a $50 increase compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the MoGo 4 can be purchased with Xgimi’s 20,000mAh PowerBase Stand for extended playtimes at a bundled price of $549. The laser version is offered in a similar bundle that includes a collapsible outdoor screen for $899.

Design and Build

The design of both projectors closely resembles that of the MoGo 3 Pro, which had a chunky appearance reminiscent of a metal water bottle, although it was constructed from plastic with a faux metal finish. A significant improvement in the new models is the integrated stand, which can now rotate a full 360 degrees, providing enhanced flexibility for setup and usage. Furthermore, the MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser have replaced the micro HDMI port found in the MoGo 3 Pro with a full-sized HDMI port, eliminating the need for adapters or special cables when connecting to gaming consoles or other video sources. The resolution remains at 1080p.

Weight and Battery Life

With the addition of built-in batteries, the weight of the projectors has increased slightly from 2.4 pounds to 2.9 pounds. While the built-in batteries offer convenience, users may still want to keep an external power bank available for extended use away from power outlets. Xgimi estimates that the battery life is approximately 2.5 hours when the projectors are set to eco mode, which reduces brightness to 40 percent. Users should expect a significant decrease in battery life when operating at full brightness, with the MoGo 4 reaching 450 ISO lumens and the MoGo 4 Laser achieving 550 ISO lumens.

Audio Enhancements

Both the MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser feature improved audio capabilities, equipped with a pair of 6W Harmon Kardon speakers that deliver enhanced sound quality. Each projector comes with a mini wireless infrared remote, which is attached to the device via a short lanyard, as well as a larger remote that includes backlit buttons and quick access to popular streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Additional Features

The MoGo 3 Pro previously offered an optional optical filter for creating light shows, allowing the projector to serve as accent lighting. The MoGo 4 introduces a magnetic filter known as “sunset,” while three additional filters—dreamscape, lunar, and ripple—can be purchased for $99. These filters work in conjunction with an app to create an ambient and immersive background experience. Notably, the MoGo 4 Laser includes all four filters in the box.

Smart Features and Connectivity

Continuing the legacy of the MoGo 3 Pro, the new projectors can also function as Bluetooth speakers, featuring ambient lighting that can sync to the rhythm of the audio being played. Additional smart features include automatic keystone correction, continuous autofocus, and the integration of Google TV, allowing users to access various streaming services without the need for an external box or dongle.

In summary, the Xgimi MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser projectors offer significant enhancements in portability, design, audio quality, and smart features, making them compelling options for users seeking versatile and high-quality projection solutions.
