Delta Camera App: A Modern Take on Game Boy Camera Aesthetics

Riley Testut, the developer behind the robust Delta emulator app”>Delta Camera for iOS, has designed the app to replicate the Game Boy Camera accessory while incorporating features typically expected from a modern camera application. The complete feature list of the Delta Camera app has not yet been disclosed, but it is currently available for beta testing to those who announced a new iPhone app”>subscribe, with pricing starting at $3 per month or $30.24 per year, ahead of a full release later this year.

The Delta Camera app aims to recreate the low resolution and monochromatic aesthetic of the original Game Boy Camera cartridge, which debuted in 1998. This device featured a 128×128-pixel CMOS sensor capable of capturing images at a resolution of 0.001434MP in just four shades of gray. The new app will allow users to adjust the brightness and contrast of their images and capture multi-shot panoramas. Additionally, it will include manual exposure and zoom options, the ability to use either the front or back cameras of the iPhone, and full support for the Camera Control button introduced with the iPhone 16 lineup.

This app could serve as a nostalgic solution for those who miss the Game Boy Camera experience.
