Nintendo has announced an early look at Donkey Kong Bananza during a livestream event scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th at 9 AM ET. The announcement was made through the Nintendo Today app, indicating that the upcoming Direct will feature 15 minutes of information about the highly anticipated Switch 2 game.

The game was revealed on April 2nd and is set to launch for the Switch 2 on July 17th. Donkey Kong Bananza features a newly designed Donkey Kong who embarks on a quest to retrieve stolen banana-shaped diamonds from an evil organization known as VoidCo. Players will experience a destructible environment, allowing Donkey Kong to break through walls, dig tunnels, and explore underground areas.

If this Direct is anything like previous events, Nintendo is expected to provide more than just gameplay footage. Fans can anticipate a deeper dive into Donkey Kong Bananza’s key features and mechanics. There may also be insights into the game’s new character, Odd Rock.

Nintendo is likely to air the Direct on its official channels. Donkey Kong Bananza will be priced at $69.99 upon its launch next month, and it will be available for pre-order through various retailers.
