Hitman Trilogy Expands to iOS and Tabletop Games

The Hitman trilogy, also known as Hitman World of Assassination, is set to become available on iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers this summer. IO Interactive made this announcement during the developer’s showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025, celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary. Veronique Lallier, Chief Development Officer at IO Interactive, stated that the launch on iOS allows players to travel the world with Hitman right in their pockets. Attendees of the event were given the opportunity to experience the game running natively on iOS.

New Tabletop Game Announcement

In addition to the mobile launch, Lallier revealed that Hitman is also making its way to tabletop gaming. IO Interactive has partnered with board game creator Mood Publishing to develop a new board game, which will be available for backing on Kickstarter later this year. This board game will feature characters, iconic weapons, and backdrops from the franchise. Up to four players can engage as assassins targeting a single objective, with the player who successfully eliminates the target receiving the payout.

New Elusive Target: Le Chiffre

Furthermore, the developer announced that Le Chiffre, the antagonist from the Bond film Casino Royale, will be the new Elusive Target in the World of Assassination. Mads Mikkelsen, who portrayed Le Chiffre in the film, has lent his likeness and voice to the character in the game. Players will have a limited time to pursue Mikkelsen’s character, as Hitman’s Elusive Target missions are unique and cannot be attempted again once they conclude. Recently, IO Interactive also revealed its upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, which is scheduled for release in 2026. Players who complete the Elusive Target mission featuring Le Chiffre will be able to redeem an exclusive suit in 007 First Light when it becomes available.

Conclusion

The expansion of the Hitman franchise into mobile gaming and tabletop formats marks an exciting development for fans. With the introduction of new characters and gameplay experiences, IO Interactive continues to innovate within the beloved series.
