Preorder Details

GameStop opened its preorders for the Switch 2 on April 24th. Similar to other retailers, the online preorders started poorly were highly sought after. Within a few hours of opening, GameStop confirmed that online preorders had sold out. However, many customers, including The Verge’s Ash Parrish, reported having success preordering in-store.

Other Retailer Availability

Best Buy has also indicated that “most” of its stores will have extra Switch 2 consoles available for in-store purchase at launch. The Verge has reached out to Walmart and Target to inquire about their plans for launch day availability.
